A cheap, but effective manual boost controller.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33742

I got it yesterday.
It has both a pressure regulator & a bleed off.

I set it to peak at 11PSI, then fall off to 9PSI at the red line, so I don’t get ahead of the stock (rewired) fuel system.
The dash gauge goes off the scale, but no fuel cuts??

I rigged it with a solenoid bypass to hold the boost to 5PSI for normal driving.
The solenoid is controlled by a red hooded switch on the console.

I always wanted a red hooded switch, but didn't know it until I had one.

are you sure you really "set" this boost controller to bleed off boost? you do have a series5 turbo which does that automatically, boost controller or not.

fwiw, i have a regular oldschool ball/spring boost controller and my boost hits 10psi and bleeds to 7 by redline because thats what stock series5 turbos do... i'm not really sure why you're trying to use a boost controller to do it.

First off, this is not for the faint of heart.
It's at the very limits of the stock fuel pump.
It's like driving out a pier & hitting the brakes at the last moment.

Exactly.

This just gives me the ability to tweak the numbers just a bit & select when I want to call up more boost.
1st & 2nd seem to spool up sooner/stronger.
The bypass switch just puts full manifold pressure to the waste gate, to save hammering on the turbo & motor during normal driving.
I keep it closed (bypassed) when "she" is in the car.

That's the same boost controller I am going to buy. Can you post some pictures and a little write up of how and where you put everything??

It will be next week when I get back from vacation.
In the meantime:
I bent the mounting bracket 90 deg. so the controller would mount vertically.
The bracket is secured under the wiring harness clip on the strut tower.
The stock boost controller is removed.

I have temporarily removed the FCD, and I'm not getting a fuel cut.
Not sure why, since the dash gauge is going off scale.
