chasis "refresh"

i got an 88 TII and a 91NA

the 88's handing is crap compared to the 91.. both pretty much stock.. TII has 1" bigger rims even!

I'm putting Tein SS"s in real soon and front and rear strut bars and while i'm doin suspension work, i think it's time to change out all the bushings...

what would I need to change to get back that "tight" chasis/suspension feel?

I was thinking Energy bushings kit, and the DTSS elimantor bushings (compared to the NA the TII just seems to lop over to one side and the DTSS kicks in much more noticably and "harder" then the 91

anything else need changing?

Sounds worn out to me.

springs
shocks
sway bars
bushings
tires
tire pressure
alignment
chassis rigidity

If any of those things aren't right or are worn out, replace or fix.
If you're willing to do all that you can make the car into anything you want it to be.

sway bars wear out? or only the bushings on the ends of em?

springs/shocks are covered with the Tein coilovers...

i keep the tires around 35psi... is that enough?

chasis rigidity is effected by what else that u listed it seperately...

are they any bushings the Energy suspension doesn't cover that i should order as well?

The biggest upgrade to restore stiffness & handling:

1) Swaybar end links
1986-88 have replaceable bushings, 1989-1991 have lightweight pillowballs integrated into Mazda's custom "dog bone" swaybar AND subframe end links. Replace those with OEM new or Racing Beat's sold/adjustable end links.
2) Subframe Endlines
3) Sublink (if it's worn out)
4) Springs
5) Shocks
6) DTSS replacement Hub (or if you don't like DTSS get the solid eliminator bushings)

The swaybars themselves don't get worn out. Also the "pillow *****" on the rear A arms, differential-body mounts, diff-subframe mount, and subfame-body mounts were fine, so I didn't replace those.

Yeah, I said "if any" were worn out, not that all of those things can be worn out.

Bushings all over the car are going to wear out. These cars are getting old...

I just replaced my front sway bar bushings with some Energy Suspension Poly bushings a few days ago...funny.
