I am having the worse problam with my alternator. I have an 88 Rx7 SE, and I can so tell my alt is not replenashing my car enough. Does any one know of a replacment or a kit with a replacment for the 2nd gen Rx7?

3rd gen alternators are the common choice. They put out upwards of 110 amps..a pretty powerful sucker they are. Search around the "for sale: parts" thread, as Silverrotor no longer sells them ..

 

He may still have some left, he did about week or two ago. He's a good guy, if he's got em you can't go wrong.

 

Before you blame the alternator, check your ground cables.

A lot of RX-7s have come by here complaining of a bad alternator, and it was just a badly corroded ground cable!

 

Luckily I do have A FEW left. I do not however push to sell them anymore as I have a members PMing when they need them.
