Question Changing vehicle sensitive PS to speed sensitive?

I have an '89 RX with vehicle sensitive powersteering. It began blowing fluid out of the fill cap and seal. I ordered a replacement not knowing that there were two possible pumps. I received the speed sensitive replacement. I suspect there may also be a computer or sensor problem. Is there a way to use the speed sensitive replacement instead of the vehicle sensitive one? What would have to be disconnected/connected etc?

Thanks,
Art

There's a control module associated with the speed sensin PS, so you'd need to get one and hook it up, if the car's even compatible with it (sensors, etc). I've not heard of anyone actually doing a conversion.

Much easier just to get the correct pump. I bought a replacement here in the For Sale section for $30 shipped, and it works perfectly. When you start mixin'-and-matchin' it usually costs more in aggravation and wasted time than it's worth.
