changing freeze plugs?

When i was putting mytranny back on i noticed one of my freezeplugs was a bit corroded and there was a slight pin hole in the lower one, it wasnt leaking bad i just noitced a drop of coolant on the inside of the freezeplug, it must only drip when pressurized , i just tossed my tranny back on cuz i just need it to back together so it can go to my uncles shop to get some body work and a paint job, he's just doin it on the side so it'll most likely be gone for a month or so till i get it back when i replace all my mounts and bushings

Anyways does anyone have any tips or tricks for changing them or is it just pretty straight forward. I searched a few times and couldnt find anything of use.....thanks

Well, when you go to take them out,all you have to Worry about is whether you wreck the Mating surface and edge inside.
Just an Idea,on How to get them out: try drilling a Hole into it, near the middle would be best(you won't hit anything) .Put a Coarsely threaded screw into it.twist it into the hole you just drilled. Then using a Hammer and a small block of wood on the Back of the engine, pry it out, screw and all.
The freeze plugs are Like compression fitted in the holes,so really it shouldn't take much effort to get them out.
