Changing diff. oil
about every 30,000 miles says the Haynes manual, ps if your checking the fluid level don't stick your pinky finger past you knuckle, I did and got my finger stuck and had to force it out and ended up with a nastly cut from the threads, but your prolly not as dumb as me!
Just stick to the every 30K miles scenario for tuneups & 3K miles for oil changes.
Now if you don't drive much, that's where I get confused. Is it "whichever comes first" - 3 years or 30K miles for tuneups? ... and 3 months or 3K miles for oil changes?

Just sniff it (you'll know if it smells burnt - if it does, change it) and stick your finger in. If there's crap suspended in the fluid, change it.
That would be my 2-step plan.
