change the ratio of 5th, who makes custom gears?

does Mazda or someplace else have different gear radios for 5th gear. right now I have .72 gear for 5th. looking for something around .65 ~ .68 to bring the 5th gear cruising rpm down.

^ i believe some gears from other mazdas will fit, such as the miata/mx-5.

ive used small parts from THM350's and 700r4's such as snap rings/ detent *****. there's a web site out there that sells new ball bearings by part number for like 60% less than the mazda dealer.

what kind of transmission are you building? TII or N/a.

if you putting down under 250, there's a write up on a 93+ miata counter/main shaft gtus 5th gear with a milled imput shaft and turbo clutch parts all inside the turbo box.

ive also found s4 shifters will work in s5 n/a transmissions if all the bushings are blown out.

how much power are you making?

if you have the cho, this is cool.

and fwiw 4th in 1.0-1.0 followed by 5th .6ish is a goofy *** ratio and the car will sound like **** shifting into fifth.

I used a JDM 91 transmission in my JC Cosmo when I converted it from AT to 5 speed. The car has 4.3 rear and runs throw the gears fast. but on the highway at cruising speed 100km ~ 60mph its up around 3000 rpm. I would like to bring the highway gearing down around 2000 when cruising.

But do you actually hit fifth gear while doing any track use and etc? I can see why this is being asked, if the car is only dd with light track use. Excuse my ignorance but arent you (op) in japan? How hard would a 6sp be to track down amd make fit? I know nothing about them just throwing it out there
