aight back from the dead....im working on this again. Now this is some knowledge for those willing to learn from my mistakes so you can see where I went wrong. I laid some glass on the dash in my car after waxing the hell out of it I then pulled the fiberglass peice from the dash and then proceeded to pour urethane foam on the thing, sand it down and get my shapes. Well the urethane foam cured along with the extra fiberglass cure shrunk the hell out of it to where it didnt fit anymore. So i said to hell with it and Sublulu started asking me about ti and told him she was in mothballs but then i went to the junkyard and found an FC dash already detached from the car so I couldnt resist....not to aften someone does all the work for you. So now I waxed the dash and with it out of the car the work is much easier so I now waxed and PVA'd it and all of that and laid a layer of cloth and then decided to use balsa wood which is great and laid glass over the shapes of the balsa.....it is curing now and tomorow i am going to bondo it all up and sander smooth and make a mold and im on the road. Only now the only difference is the mickey mouse is gone and it is only the center gauge panel yet it still covers the entire dash and smooths the entire thing out and gets rid of the drop....more pics tommorow

i have the skills to make a whole custom fibreglass dash, but the cost of sending it to the US would be too much.

ok that stuff that i have isnt foam. The last one had foam that i used and you can find it on the net under urethane foam. In this one i used balsa and the gooey stuff is called fiberglass cloth that is layed over the balsa. Now i will use body filler over the top of the fiberglass and smooth it out.

kit is in august....i am moving and I was waiting for something else to come thru before i was going to build it but now I am going to do it from scratch. I will be moving across country soon so i have to limit myself on what I build because shipping is expensive and I am going to morocco for a 3 week vacation God willing. Plus people are begging me for all kinds of things so I am trying to do so many things at once. I am going to finish this hood that I have and God willing I will build a louvered one and finish this dash project and whatever other cf parts will be secondary --Derek

As long as the CF is laid well you can count me in for one. For the matter if you keep me updated on all the CF parts you make I'm sure I will be on board to buy. I sent you a PM with my email address. Please email me because I have a few questions on some other CF pieces.

alright guys here are some pics....i finished sanding the thing off and used a brush to get a really thick layer of gel coat for the mold, even tho i should have used a tooling coat as that would have been best. Either way i wil sand the mold ultra smooth and then I will be laying carbon fiber in it maybe tommorow and I will have a prototype ready to ship. I have already one customer that has paid for it so he will have it mounted as soon as he gets it.

I am selling one to sublulu for 149 and usual is 169. Ill sell another two for 159 then i might even go up to 179 which seems fair considering a half dash is 179.

it doesnt start and stop...it covers the entire dash from left to right, pretty much where you see all the white.
