The series 5 can crack as well, and it's been a long time since I've played with surrounds so I wasn't thinking clearly on the color, thanks for catching me

Ditto. I actually trust my dealer with my car. unfortunately its also a GM dealer, and the parts guy is a retard, so ordering parts is a hassle. Although I havent tried it yet since ive gotten my parts sheets. I should be able to just hand him a list of #'s now.

My used one looks brand new and I paid $50 shipped for the radio surround, ashtray, and shifter surround all in absolute perfect condition. I plan on putting something on the back of it before putting it on, myabe just crazy glue or something.

Its really rather stupid what cracks these things.
It seems that the 2 screws that hold the top in, behind the vents, are just a TAD bit too long and they put a small amount of force on the top of the surround. Either replace the screws with some shorter ones, or just add a washer or 2 like I did.
I didnt realize what caused this until I went to install my newly smoothed and painted surround and could actually see the screw put a tiny bit of pressure on the surround, put a couple of washers in there and its fine and dandy.
Ryde or Die: some epoxy on the back of the surround should work good, I used epoxy and some fiberglass finishing cloth.
