CEL not working at all. N370 S5t2 rtek1.7

Have a s5 Na car with s5 t2 engine. S5 Na converted harness. N370 rtek 1.7 and the check engine light does not light up with ignition on. The car does run. So I have no check engine light whatsoever, and I need this to work.

Just got the car running and am not the first owner of the ecu.

Checked fsm and it seems as power goes into idiot light cluster and is split parallel to all bulbs. So power goes from battery-fuses-bulb-ecu. Other lights do light up and I tried changing bulbs with others that do work.

I'm assuming that the ecu closes the circuit when it wants the light on. So is my ecu not capable of closing the circuit? Any way of testing this on the circuit board? Any help appreciated. I'm currently going to radioshack to purchase led tester to see if I can at least pull codes that way
