catalytic converter
Hi all:
My main (rear) catalytic converter is leaking at the "seams", which caused me to fail inspection (in mass). What I mean by "seams" is the thin part that separates top from bottom has kinda split near the front flange on both sides. Other than that, it is in pretty good shape and looks pretty solid.
Can those narrow gaps be welded shut. I don't know if the repair would last though. Any experience on that ?
In case I need a new one, I have found 2 cheapo possible direct-fit replacement:
1) CATCO rear converter from www.discountconverter.com
2) WALKER rear converter
Both sell for $99. Any advice/experience on which to get ?
BTW, I have s4 n/a std.
thanks,
