Cat Convertor/aux port ?

Hey all, I am having an exhaust made for my car soon. I will be using Magnaflow high flow cat w/ a borla xr1 to a corksport SS muffler (all 2.5inch piping). Maybe with a RB header. But my question is do I need to have the Cat modified in anyway so that I can have the air tube that will activate my 6 ports?

Run the ports off of the airpump. Search for info.

Alright, but what if I just am replacing my cats and don't want to go to the trouble of having my ports avtivated by the air pump. Just by the cat with a air tube? Or is there more to it than that?

Less trouble to use the airpump then it is to modify the catalytic converter.

If you really want to modify the cat, you will need to put an air tube either at the inlet of the cat or in the middle of the cat, routed to the stock split air pipe.

that air tube doesn't open the ports, it's there so air can be pumped into the cat for better emissions. So your aux's are fine

Yeah, I know they were working before I blew my motor, but I will be putting on a new exhaust. SO I guess I should have just started the conversion to using the airpump for the activation of the aux ports.

On S4's they do open the ports. It is dependant on back pressure. I hear it needs something like 3PSI.

The tube in the cat would be the most simplistic way but you either gotta get that cat with it or install one.

The airpump mod still confuses me.I have heard people taking from all different places and they point out each ones flaw against each other. I haven't really found a definite answer as to which one will work and won't lose pressure or something.

I just posted this as well in a different thread.
How about swapping S5 actuating equip? Not do-able?It ECU operated or something else?

On my exhaust I have upgraded everything but the cat since I know what no ports feel like and I don't want to go through that mess.

Now to highjack the thread.
I had a presilencer/downpipe thing on my car when I bought it. It replaces the 2 precats. Anyway of telling who made it? It is not like the pic of the Bonez superflo cause it isn't welded to the cat. It's bolted. So far I can only think of Bonez or maybe racing beat.

Does anyone know if there are markings on these to identify them?

Well I just got done doing a ton of research on using a RPM activated switch with a solenoide(sp) conected to the airpump.
But I have a ? about it. I noticed that ppl using the Summit Racing switch said everything was multiplied by 2 (the limits and the incriments inwhich they are changed). But I was wondering if this was the same with the MSD switches.
I plan on doing this with my Aux ports and maybe with my S5 intake, but was wondering if anyone has some drawings or suggestions on how to do the Vacum/pressure lines?

Thanks
