cat back systems
cat back systems
Ok, i have a 88 rx7 non turbo and Im planning on changing my exhaust on it. I was thinking of racing beat but i heard that it increases backpressure .Is that true? Thanks
its kinda hard to increase backpressure with an aftermarket exhaust... if you go with an RB y-pipe and then get rear sections (you can use stock if you want) you will see decent gains when compared to just changing the mufflers. the y-pipe and the cats are where most of the backpressure comes from.
and with the 6-ports you want some backpressure to activate the 5th and 6th ports i believe....

If you don't mind a little louder than regular aftermarket exhausts but don't want to spend a whole lot of money I would recommend my old setup.
Bonez Superflo downpipe and high flow cat(still activates ports) and Corksports Single exhaust.
It was cheap and loud but it had a deep growl to it once I put the Bonez on there. Most of the RX7 guys I drove to SS6 with complimented me on the sound.
