cat-back exhaust from Midas
I need a new cat-back system for my stock 88 SE. Thinking about getting one from Midas. Bad idea? Any advice on what size, etc. to get for some more power economically? I was thinking 2 or 2 1/4 inches.

try just buying a pair of good canisters like RB, CS, or RP. then go the a muffler shop and have them fab the rest. From what I heard, thats the cheapest way to go and still get good performance.

dude i will never go to a midas again. i went to see if the could fab up something for my eclipse GSX i wanted a 3" system, and the guy that was "helping" me (i say that loosely) said that 3" is to big for an import and that i needed some 2" pipe i was like but it's a turbo trying to maybe get this guy to think i know he's stupid by now but i gave him a chance to redeam him self. any way he was like and 3" pipe is for v-8's i was like do you even know how a turbo works? and he said ya but 3" is for v-8's and proceded to show me where it said in his catalog where it said this "fact" and he was like i've been doing this for 13 years and never put that big a pipe on an import. well needless to say i got my butt out of there fast. the best was when he pulled it into the bay and couldn't figure how to turn it off he was like this thing won't turn off. and i told him about the turbo timer and he still couldn't understand and i just told him it will turn off by itself. it was like the monkeys on 2001 i was rolling. should have just taken my car right then though.
