CAS Question
When I am stabbing the CAS on my S5 N/A, I cannot get the teeth to align properly. After I have installed it, the car will only run if the CAS is maxed out in one direction. If I go over one tooth then the adjustment bolt must be maxed out the other way for the car to run.
Question: Would these symptoms occur if I had installed the CAS gear (inside the engine front cover) backwards? It is my understanding that the gear does have a front and back.
If it doesn't matter, is it possible my pulleys are somehow installed wrong and what I think is TDC really isn't? The pulleys seem to only fit together one way.
Thanks for your input guys,
Brian

I am using the yellow mark on the pulley. I know I am doing everything correctly, which makes me wonder if the gear inside the engine is backwards or somehow the pulleys are wrong.

Is the dot an line on the CAS align properly....
You gotta take cover off of CAS an turn it so the dot an line match while dot an line on motor is align...then you put CAS in while holdin center section of CAS so it don't move when installing........

Yep the dot is aligned. I know the procedure in stabbing the CAS and I know I am doing it correctly. The problem has to be with something else. Thanks for your input guys, keep the suggestions coming.
Recap-When I stab the CAS correctly, the adjustment is maxed out in one direction. If I go one tooth the other way, it maxes out the other way. Both ways are not quite timed correctly.
