CAS cover silver

I am trying to find a nice silver CAS cover. Plain with no writing on it. Ive checked vendors, and ebay with no luck.

Im trying to make a memorial piece for my dad to put on the car. He bought the RX7 with only 1400 miles on it in 1987. I made quite a few road trips in growing up while visiting him over the summers. He loved this car. After I was able to drive I asked him on mutiple occasions to give me the car. He just couldnt part with it. Finally 2 years ago he called to say if I bought him and my step mom the airfare, he would give to me. So without a thought i bought the tickets. Flew out to Wyoming and drove it back with him from Wyoming to Florida. Ive been doing a few upgrades to it here and there (exhaust,Dp,FMIC, fuel pump ect). I start preping for paint about a year ago hoping to go on another road trip with him after it was all done. Last May he called to tell me he was diagnosed with lung cancer. The project was put on hold as I was flying back and forth from FL to WY all summer. Unfortunalty I wasnt able to get it done and he passed away this passed August. So I am trying to fint a CAS cover to have engraved in memory of him.

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot. Feel free to move if I did. I have looked all the places I can think of short of making one. Thanks

I tried our local version of ebay (its called trademe) but they only seem to have the engraved ones. your best bet would be to have one made and polished or plated? I know it may be expensive but you will get exactly what you are after and its worth the cost. Sorry to hear of your dads passing.

Contact Level Zero here on the forum. They make covers and I'm sure they would be willing to work with out to get one with out anything engraved on it.

Get some 1/8" aluminum and a hole saw...Then just drill out the two mounting screw holes.

I've tried it. The slit for the wire grommet (rubber thing) doesn't line up correctly if you flip it.

I sanded and polished a stock cas cover, it actually came out nice. The only downside for you would be that the inspection hole would still be there.
If you want it done, send it to me. Just cover shipping. My dads a cancer survivor, I can appreciate what your doing for your pops.

Does anyone know if I am able to remove the anodized color from one of the ones on ebay if the aluminum under it is able to be polished. I've never attempted it but I can't find just a plain aluminum polished one and I don't want the hole in the middle of the stock one. So I figure the best way as of now would be to buy one of the colored anodized ones from ebay, remove the coloring and Polish it then engrave it. Thanks again

I ordered a red anodized one from ebay. Ill pick up some oven cleaner when it gets here and see how it comes out. The delivery date says March 1-15th. I really hope it doesn't take that long unless they are walking it to my house haha
