CARX7 under knife

Since several people seem to be asking what's up with my car...

I have sold a few things off the car and it will be comming off the road in a week or so to go back under the knife so to speak.

I will be adding a few things, changing some stuff that I wasn't 100% happy with and finishing all the detail work that has been looming for the past year.

What are you going to do?

What didn't you like about it?

First priority is manifold rev 1.2... the one on the car has already been sold. Along those lines some re-finishing of my exhaust and intake track, and quite possibly a different intercooler of the custom variety. Some fuel and ignition work as well most likely... I hope.

The body work will be finished and I expect the car to look completely different with that. There will be some custom work there as well.

And lastly I have a few details to straighten out on the interior.

FWIW, I have an extra set of mandrel bent manifold tubes. All you need are some flanges and a capable welder and you can essentially copy my design that's been proven to work. $120 if anyone is interested... that's what it cost me to have them made excluding my time to decide what they should look like and find someone who could do it.

Cool.

Hey I found a Turbo guy which is about 10 minutes from me and is pretty cheap.

He rebuild my S5 Hitachi for $216 after tax and the thing looks insanely good now.

www.turbosdirect.com

He currently doesn't have a shop but has turned his whole garage into a work area. He has all the tools and everything to do custom work.

Also I can do minor Fiberglassing and my buddies are bodymen at a high tech painting place.

Chris I am looking forward to the completetion of your project. I know you and Reese are some what rivals, in a good sense, and I hope that in a couple years when I finish up my car that I will provide some formidable opposition to the two of you. Well Reese will be easy to beat, since I know everything he does, he lives right down the road. Good luck man.

Chris,
I too look forward to the final completeion of your vehicle. It really isn't much of an RX-7 any more, the more and more work you do to it, it's becoming a CARX7. I'm shopping for a new apt now, there is a chance I may be close to the beach, time for you and the brid to get away from the weinee's and take a short vacation out in Sun Diego.

Ya know, I just may brew a beer just for you. Maybe something your car can run off of. ha ha. Looks like anti-freeze, aroma of exhaust, tastes like a black patch of rubber. And when you crack one open, it sounds like your BOV opening up. Now that would be cool.

LOL. Sweet. I'm trying to work a trip to LA next weekend... the 23rd, the pick up some "stuff". I'm not sure if that's going to work out for Robin though with the stand, so I may have to push it back 2 weeks.

If I manage to get there we need to hook up. Perhaps I can come down the SD, or you'll have to drive to LA
