Question carbon locked i think

how can i tell if my 87 gs n/a is carbon locked.
all i get out of it is CLUNK. spark plugs are prety fouled up.no oil or water leakes.

doesn't even turn over you're saying? sure the batt is good?

What happens when you put a socket and breaker bar on the nut in the center of the main pullys? Can you move it at all?

havent tried yet, but the plugs have alot of build up.

My instinct says starter. While it is possible for carbon buildup to cause this, it is pretty rare for it to happen.

If it's not the starter then it could be something else. I would pull the engine and tear it down as soon as possible.

uh if its carbon locked you're talkin about a rebuild... try what the Spyder said thow.. its a 19mm and 100 ft-lbs should be enough to move it easily.

tearing it down now. its stock, so i have to grt rid of alot of stuff to get at the bolt.bat & starter are good.

try roll starting it.
