Carbon fiber/kevlar mufflers?

Just wondering what the pros are of these. I kinda like the angle one here and wanted to know if it actually did anything worth-while.

They are lighter in weight.

They *might* weigh a few ounces less than a regular steel muffler of the same design. Its more of a gimmick. Does nothing worthwhile, but adds rice-appeal, and raises the price.

Last longer?&nbsp I highly doubt that - an all metal (welded) muffler would last a helluva lot longer than something that's made out of composite resin, which is basically what carbon fiber is.

How much lighter?&nbsp It depends on what you're comparing it to.&nbsp Versus some mild steel unit, you're looking at something 50%-75% lighter.&nbsp With some of the more popular stainless steel stuff, maybe in the 10%-30% range.

So basically a no-go. I just like the way that angled one looks, more so if I can find an SS one like that with like a 3.5" tip. But for like half the price, or close.

Most importantly it's only 2.25", too small!

Check out the add again. It says " each muffler features a carbon fiber or kevlar wrap". Now go inlarge the picture. You can see that this is just a regular muffler with a sheet of carbon fiber/kevlar wraped around it.

It also has a sticker on the back that says "For ricer aplication only" ..........Well it should.

I'm an NA so would never go over 2.5" piping anyways, especially with true-dual.

So anyone know where I can find an angled muffler like that for fairly cheap with a 2.5" inlet and 3.5" outlet(or close)? Thanks, and by the way it doesn't have to be a brand name.
