i dont see why not get a carbon fiber hood, id dish out the cash if i had it, its a nice weight reduction,i mean really how much do the stock steel hoods weigh 60lbs? i have one its so heavy it wore out the spring or whatever on the latch so it doesn't pop up anymore when you pull the release, you have to put the healights up and pull it up from those sides. Aluminum dents VERY easy, i wouldn't bother with any aluminum body panelsat all, so why not fiberglass or carbon fiber? because you'd be dumb not to, (think id be better off getting the fiberglass or FRP hoods b/c i'd paint it to match) but interior carbonfiber parts are sweet, i'm considering that speedmachine radio surround, and idiot cluster surround (i broke mine, was fine before i touched it , and same thing with the center ac vents and demisters. . .woo put carbon fiber everywhere)

Good luck on your search and sorry to go so hard on you .

Gawd that Amemiya hood is teh sexay!

If I ever decide to ditch my hood I want to save for that!!!

BTW I think the statement that only Speedmachine sells them stands because they're the only US hood producer except those cheesy ebay ones.

All the JDM's would probably cost 1k+ to get here.

The hood from Speed Machine Performance is what I have. Overall quality is very nice, only one thing, when it rains, the hood does not have any sort of design for drainning the water out of the hood, I'm sure someone has a solution for that.

^true. I don't care though The water draingin out usually isn't huge enough to cause a short or something. I guess if you wanted you could just drill a few holes in low spots to fight that.
