carb vs FI

ok, I'll admit, I'm a retard, or is it rotard? , anyway, fuel injection confuses the hell out of me. Its great when it works, but when it messes up, I need someone else to figure it out, not to mention this crazy *** distributor with no cap :\ Give me a carb and DLIDFIS and I PRETTY much know whats going on (thanks to what I learned here when I had my FB. So I'm VERY strongly considering convering my 90 over to carb... what do I need? car/intake, fuel pressure regulator (or do I need to change to a lower pressure/flow rate pump), distributor and a couple coils. Am I missing anything? And although I'd be gaining simplicity and peace of mind, and having a system that I understand.. But what are the down sides? Any other up sides?

efi is more responsive better gas mileage , safer for the engine with all the sensors(knock, tps, map, crank angle,ect,dis.etc...) and carb is just air and dumping fuel.for my turbo II im going EFi with Micro Tech

aside from the carb setup, youll need a dizzy out of an fb, the rest of the ignition is up to you. i went with two cd boxes and two coils for the leading ignition. you can use your in-tank fuel pump but make sure you hook a return line up from the reg back to the tank. if you use another pump thats out of the tank, use the old return on your gas tank to get your fuel from. youll also need to find a decent way to hook the throttle cable back up. all the emisions crap can come off. your gonna have alot of wires left hangin around. there is alot of junk (weight), from parts you dont need anymore that can be removed.

i get alot of flames from whats under my hood, but i love it. the fuel injection system on my car started failing so i ripped it all off. went with a racing beat holley setup. built an ignition system out of mallory and msd parts. put racing beat header and presilencer on. and racing beat alum flywheel and racing clutch and pressure plate. what can i say, i like racing beats stuff. anyways, serious increase in power from the efi setup. lot of fun and holley rebiuld parts are dirt cheap. looking back, if i had more money to do the project i think i would have done some kind of throttlebody setup. but im happy with how things turned out. i just bought a 13bt engine and am gonna start transplanting my parts onto the turbo engine and blow the turbo thru the carb. good luck with what you do. if you need anything, pm me. ive got two good 6-port 4-barrel intakes for sale and possibly some other stuff.
