carb not working... need advice!!!
Ok, well lately i have been having acceleration problems, like i when i shift into each gear it would hesitate for a few seconds and then go normal. so i detached the air intake duct from the throttle body and my brother pushed the gas pedal and to my suprise the two circler metal things were not moving like they should be. they are supposed to rotate like 80 degrees or whatever it is but they are not moving they are staying premanately open. so ne one have ne ideas on fixing this? or should i get it professionally done? thanks

What carb are you running, what are you talking about plates staying open.. would be reving the car pretty good if it was open.. maybe your acclerator pump isn't working causing it to bog when you hit the throttle...
Now if your refering to your STOCK EFI system.. those two butterflys which stay should stay open.. they only close when the car is cold you don't abuse your engine while its still not up to operating tempter.. there are to plates behind that which oepn when you hit the throttle.... which are kind of hard to see if yuor TB is still in the car..
Sound like maybe a vac leak giving it a poor throttle responce... have you done the basics, clean fuel injectors, new air filter, new spark plugs, new sparkplug cables, oil change.. etc?
Hope that helps..

Is your fuel system stock? If so you don't have a carb by the way you have fuel injection.
If you're talking about the stock throttle body when you look inside there are 3 plates, correct? If it is stock, the 2 UPPER plates should have 2 more plates behind those unless it has been modified. The BOTTOM plate has nothing behind it. When the car is warm the 2 UPPER front plates will be perminately open but the plates behind those should not be. The 2 UPPER back plates and the BOTTOM plate should all open gradually with throttle and then close when you let off.
If this is not happening they may just be stuck and you might have to clean up the spring/rotating assemlbly or the shaft where it goes through the throttle body, as those might be gummed up and stuck or something.
