carb conversion for show car (please don't hate) need minor guru help.
I know how much better EFI is. I'm converting to a carb mainly just to get rid of the mess of wires and vacume lines. I don't actually care about performance that much. I also have a AEM wideband O2 sensor and gauge . The ignition system in the rex uses a CAS. I have opened the CAS and realized that it was 2 wires for the top inductive sensor (leading? with 2 teeth per rotation), then the bottom inductive sensor with a lot of teeth (trailing?). if I eliminate the ECU and Trailing ignition system is there anyway of getting a ignition modual (MSD, Mallory, Jacobs, etc) that could use that signal from the factory CAS?
If not what sensors would I 'Have to' keep on the engine for the ECU to take care of the timing? Bare minimal. I want this rx to have as little wires/hoses as possible. Simplicity is good.. I see EFI all day at work (full time technition), I want old school.. Without the points from a 85 gslse.. THANK YOU GUYS!

nice.. that sounds like an upgrade.. though now that i have been reading a lot about the leading ignition system and the cas thats on the car i have been thinking of just fabbing a new top (2 tooth) rotor for the cas. rather then 2 teeth it would have 4. that equates to 1 fire every 180 deg. If i understand correctly both leading plugs fire @ 0deg, 180deg, etc. every half crank rotation. a 4 tooth rotor in the factory cas would trigger every 180deg crank rotation..
