Talking Carb Cleaner in Hand, What to Clean?

Got my whole intake manifold apart and I am ready to clean and get things free from emissions. Who has a link to the TB mod? What is all this rust colored powder in my ACV? Can I just start sprayin and wiping? I'm going to get all the faces resurfaced(friends in good places, yes) and maybe a little porting but I am scared, don't know how to do it.

You can clean everything with carb cleaner, it wont hurt anything. I think the best thing for cleaning exterior engine parts is brake cleaner, its a little better for getting grease and oil off.

Brake cleaner will **** up plastic and rubber unless you rinse it off quickly (or so I'm told.)

I've never seen carb cleaner hurt anything yet. Did you leave the brush in a puddle of it or what?

the carby cleaner I use eats carbon instantly, washes away grease, dirt in seconds and fu(ks up paint work not long after...

the brake cleaner I use is safe on everything unless you let it sit in it and even then isn't too bad as it evaporates rather quickly ... it also isn't that effective for GP cleaning compared to the carby cleaner

With the TB mod i found many people saying they lost a fair bit of bottom end from the porting.. so think about how you want you power band to come on before porting...
if you want it good down low (improved over stock) do everything but not the porting... if its going to be a hi revvin screamer port the mother
