car wouldn't turn off
Ok so what could the problem be? My car just would not shut off. I have a turbo timer and have had it for a while but this was weird. I turned the TT off and nothing. The car simply wouldn't shut off. So thankfully I have a fuel cut switch installed so I turned it off that way, but the s-afc and the light for the hand brake were still on as well as the TT's power. It was like the off part of the ignition switch wasn't working. But when I got home it worked. I can not stand these off and on problems. Anyone have any ideas? Someone said it may be a grounding issue since I have so many strange problems. Where EXACTLY should I look and where should I put maybe new/larger grounds? Thanks alot.

I currently have this same problem with my car not shutting off. Sometimes it will work just fine, other times it won't. Could you explain what an alternator feeding itself is? Sorry I don't have any other suggestions on this. I've been trying to find the problem for some time now.

On my problem.
It is kind of unique.
I did a TII conversion. TII's have the back alternator plug on the driveer side harness. On NA's it is on the EFI passenger side harness.
I wired up 2 lines for the NA interior harness. When I did this I acciudentally mixed the two up.
This caused the alternator to feed itself and continuously run. I ended up pushing the throttle linkage all the way down to kill it off(could have pulled the efi fuses).
With it wired backwards I would not get an idiot cluster light up with keys in but engine not running.
Once I rewired it they would come on like normal and turn off once the car runs(voltage/ground reference for Alt causes lights to go on/off).

You said you have a Timer. That's a possibility for it not turning off. Maybe a wire got mixed up and it leaving the ignition circuit still on.
Pretty much your ingition circuit is hanging up some where and not turning off with the key reference.

Like said above you could be feeding your circuit juice.
Maybe you wired a 12v into your ignition by accident giving it 24/7 voltage?

Well the thing that bothers me is that nothing has changed. Also, this happened one time only. Thats what makes me believe that it is a grounding issue somewhere.
