Car Wont Turn Off! Please Help!!!
Ok, so for everyone who likes to tell people to search, I did. The only thing I've seen close to this situation was on an FD on a google search when I couldn't find it on the 2nd Gen section. But heres the situation. I blew the coolant line right under the alternator. No biggie, changed the line, no problem. Well I went to leave about 2 hours later, started the car, and forgot I hadn't put coolant back in. So i went to turn the car off, and it kept running, not worried yet. turned the turbo timer off, still running. so it worried me a little. Pulled the battery. Long story short, i changed the ignition relay, and it still does it. I checked the black/white wire from the ignition, which i was told to do, has no power with the switched turned off. Any ideas? The turbo timer harness is completely out of the car now because i thought that might be part of the problem, its not. Also, side note, the radio and overhead lights now dont work, im assuming because of this problem.
P.S.
The car is a 1987 gxl with a T2 swap. Haltech e6k. stock ignition. If you need anymore information to help diagnose this problem. just ask, ill be happy to provide. I just need help.

Several times a problem like this is due to a connector being put together wrong. Like if the two wires on the alt small plug on a series four are swapped the alt will backfeed the ignition system and the car will keep running.
So even if this does not apply to you............pull the small plug off the alt and start the engine and then turn it off and see how it goes.
On another occasion someone crossed elect plugs near the pedals on a series four car which caused the batt buss to backfeed the IG1 circuit which resulted in .........the engine keeping on keeping on when the key was off and in the backyard.

I believe if you pull the two wire plug off the alternator and measure for voltage on the two wires and then when pulling the Engine fuse the voltage on one of the wires should drop to zero from 12 volts. This wire would go on the top position of the alternator plug when using an S4 alternator.

lol yea i usually have that issue. but i figured it out. with the assistance of someone on here, i doubled checked, and with my haltech its now 2 wires connecting the alternator instead of the one plug, but i had hooked them up wrong and didnt even think about about it. i thought i had it correct. but i guess not.
