Car wont start....please help
thanks for looking, i have a 1991 base model. and when i goto start it i press the clutch turn they key and it doesnt start SOMETIMES, its not a mechanical problem, i know its either my ignition or the little button under the clutch pedal. its no like the car cranks, it does the same thing as when you try to start the car without pressing the clutch, just goes to the on position

Did you check your battery terminals? Sometimes, if they're too corroded, the starter will not engage. This has happened to me MILLIONS of times.
It's sometimes the simplest of things
If it is the clutch switch, check the connection, and check the resistance with a multimeter. Clean up the grounds under your hood, and for the clutch switch.
Good luck

Derek does it even try to crank over? Does it go to power and then cut out and act as if the battery is dead? How exactly does everything react?
I had a problem recently where a metal piece of my battery box had contacted both the negative and positive terminal of my battery and fused itself to it......the car would begin to try and crank and before it could do anything it would short itself out.
