Question car won't start! help!!

i have posted about this before and haven't received much response about it. my car won't start. i tried putting gas in it and nope still nothing..i found 2 fuses that were blown in the interior fuse panel and i think one of them was a 75 amp fuse...are there 75 amp fuses in these cars? (87 non- turbo) it could have also been a 7.5 obviously, and i went to autozone and he said to check the large fuses under the hood. but the damn thing won't even turn over. the guy at the store told me to crank it maunually. anyone know how to do that? any help at all would be appreciated, thanks...gerry

Ok so the engine just does not turn over at all? Even with the battery charged up.

How did the car get to be like this did it just not start up one morning or did it fudge up all of a sudden?

it was sitting in my driveway for about 2 or 3 weeks because i lost my license and didn't have a job and therefore i couldn't get any gas so i couldn't drive it...what happened first was i jumped before i put gas in it and it started and then shut off in like 2 minutes i am assuming becuase of no gas and ever since then the car has done nothing but the lights and everything work fine so that battery is chared and whenever i try to start it i always have it jumped to another car for support...

Maybe the fuel filter became clogged when the car sucked up the last of the gas in the tank and the nasty stuff that is floating around in there was sucked up too. Maybe you should buy one and change it but be sure that the gas tank has atleast five gallons in it.

My friends Neon did this a couple of times. the car started fine and then after about a minute it just died. We had to tow his butt about ten miles to his house.

good good good idea...i only have 2 gallons in it and i need to look at the haynes manuel to see where the fuel filter is so i can see if its clogged...do you think i should check the large fuses under the hood also?

I can't hurt to look for blown out fuses. The fuel filter I (think) is on the driver's side towards the rear of the engine bay. It is easily visible from under the car.

i looked at the underhood fuses and the "80" was blown so i went to the junkyard and got a new one and it was a bitch to get out. but do you think that could be controlling the ignition system? i think it could be.

Is'nt that the "Main" fuse? If it is that would have done it since I think it controls the majority of the stuff on the car. Did you start her up. Don't forget to get more gas and you should proly get the fuel filter since it probably is dirty if it is not 100% clogged.

The EGI fuse is 80A, isn't it? I didn't know it was the only one, though.

I think the egi fuse is a 30 or 60 amp one but I am not 100% on that. The egi fuse would not cause the car to stop turning over it would only stop the puel from reaching the injectors. His engine just did not turn over at all.
