car wont start
ok heres the story i was swutchiing the intor and i guess the battery got drained cuz i jus left it sitting. so i jumper it and turned key to "on" the lights came on the volt meter rise to its voltage. so i turn it to "acc" it cranks over but dont start. so i try and couple of more times and about the 3th time nothing happens. it dont even crank over no more and everything turns off, volt gauge droped like the key wasnt even in there. so i re connect the jumper cables and the power is back but once i turn the key to "acc" i lose all the power again.
i checked all the fuese and there good but if you guys suggest for me to recheck i will. 87 sport with 160k

The same thing is happening to my car. I had the car in my garage for 5 months and when I went to start it, it sounded like it was struggling. It almost makes it but its not enough to get it started. Ive recharged my battery and it looked like it helped but still not enough. I might just have to buy a new battery.

its not the battery. went to go get it checked out and it is still good. wen i try to start the car it makes one click and everything just shuts down, volt meter turns off, the warning lights turns off as if there was no battery. i have to go under the hood and disconnect the "-" and reconnect it so i can get the warning lights to work again. but car still dont start.

The Cause of Death
if it just clicks then keep engaging and disengaging the clutch while you try to crank
sometimes when my car just goes "click click" like a solenoid click, then i do the above and it usually turns over after a few tries
good luck

If all the lights go out when the "click" occurs, it sounds to me like an electrical short somewhere.
Mine was doing that after a layoff as well, but the dome light would only dim a bit each try.
I finally got it to crank by loosening all the various accessory belts (AC, Air Pump, Power Steering, Alternator). I figured with less load I would have a better chance getting the engine to crank.
It clicked the first few times, but I kept at it a few times and it turned over.
Unfortunately, it still won't start, but it cranks. (probably flooded at this point).
Good luck!

maybe you put the battery in backwards :P
but yeah a 'click' usually means its a short. I learned that a long time ago in my beginning computer building days :P
