Go to this link, look at the symptoms, and post back here if you think that's your problem.

This part works great, I have it installed on my own car.

No. This part is only a "temporary" solution (even Mazdatrix says so).

Fix the root of the problem (leaking injectors, low compression, tuneup, etc.) or use a fuel cut switch as a band-aid.

For the mean time you can try unflooding the car the hard way.

to reduce clutter in the 2nd gen section my car will not start. i have tried everything, the unflooding techniques and still nothing. it acts like it wants to but doesnt quite start. the starter is fine but i think my s-afr may have been played with and i can not find my instruction booklet. i ordered new plugs and i should have them in a few days and i have a voltmeter ready for suggestions. any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Do you have spark? Fuel? Compression? Tried unflooding with oil or (yuk) ATF? Tried a push start?

and do i have to have someone crank the engine to test for spark on the coils?

Use a spark tester. Looks like a spark plug with a little alligator clip on the hex section. It clips to the engine, then you connect your plug wire. You can place it almost anywhere so that you can see it from inside the car. Check for spark on your leadings.

Instead of ATF, use oil. Same effect, less smoke. If you're seriously flooded, it will be the easiest way to get the car going.

A few ounces into each spark plug hole (leadings only). Pour in some, rotate the engine by hand a few times, then pour in the rest. The oil builds an oil film up on the rotor housings, absorbing the excess fuel and creating a seal between the housing and the apex seal.

I did the atf on my heavily flooded s4 and it worked, had to do it twice, but it eventually turned over. ATF is the best to use cause it will get rid of carbon deposits too from what I heard.

ok the coils tested ok the only thing that i can think of is that the bolts that hold the wires down are a little dirty and i will clean those tomorrow when its not so damn cold and i can actually see something but i do have photos of my spark plugs maybe you can tell me if they look bad enough not to start it or what.

if they were covered in gas then your car is probably flooded....i know the fist time i got my 7 to run, i had to unflood it (removed spark plugs and added atf aswell) like 4 times.

Your sparkplugs look drenched. If it's wet they won't spark. You could try drying them off.. unflood the car... I know you hat tis... again, and try starting the car... again.

RC engineering clean injectors.....if your car is because of faulty injectors, you can install a fuel cut of switch as a "bandaid" until you have enough time/money to send the injectors out.

edit: first get the car started before you send your injectors out to get cleaned.

The last time I had trouble starting my car I had to crank it for about a minute continuously to unflood it. The total time trying to unflood it though spanned a few days.
