Car won't run by itself...

For some reason my car won't run by itself. I always have to have my foot on the gas a little to keep it alive. I haven't tried driving it, 'cuz it'll just turn off if the rpm drops too low. Also, there's coolant vaporizing near the turbo, but I looked around it and everything is dry...
It's like the car runs fine and everything ONLY if I keep my foot on the gas. If I don't, it dies. I had my dad keep it running while I listened for vac leaks, and I didn't hear any. Anyone have any insight to what might be going wrong? Thanks in advance.

What will that do? Tighten the cable to raise the idle?!

Have you checked your AFM to see if its plugged in and in working order? What started this problem?

The AFM is plugged in. I'm pretty sure the cable is fine, there's no slack or anything. I'm not exactly sure what the problem is, but it's really getting on my nerves. I've waited so long for it to finally run and it just won't stay alive. Do I have to mess with the TPS or something like that?

So, you have a new motor? What DID YOU DO?!?
Is the intake system intact from the AFM back?

Well, I took everything apart thinking I needed a rebuild, but ended up not needing to. So I bought alot of new stuff (intake, exhaust, cleaned injectors, etc.), removed emissions, and put it back together. The first time I got it to crank it ran ok, but the coolant line to the turbo broke, so I had to fix it. When I put everything back together, it would start and die.

I'll go head and check those out. If anyone has any other suggestions, please post them here. Thanks again.

Ok guys...
I got the car running earlier today. I had to keep my foot on the gas until the car warmed up, but once it was a little warm, it finally idled. Now, the idle was at 1.5K so I wanted to lower it to 750 (that is the correct idle right?). Messed with the screw and tried to fire it up again...Nothing. Pulled out the plugs (new), wiped them off (some were wet and partially black) and put them in, still nothing. It sounds like it wants to start, it blips once or twice after initially trying to start it, but then nothing. I think my TPS is bad too, 'cuz I set it to 1000 and when I press the throttle it goes up, goes to infinity, and drops to around 5.6K. Where could I get a new one? Also, the car won't start by itself unles I help it with the pedal, and I think it's 'cuz I removed the cold start assist, am I gonna have to do that everytime? I don't have a BAC either by the way, but should I let it sit for awhile and try again?
I was also told maybe it's the gas (been sitting for almost a year now). Should I put some new gas or an additive in? What octane would you recommend? Thanks for the help so far, I'm almost there and I just regained hope when it ran by itself today (I was gonna give up soon).
