Car will not idle below 1500 ?
Guys I cant even drive it like this. First off I have fully ported manifolds , pineapple sleeves. I turned my TPS all the way down then all the way up again and no difference. Only like the idle started bouncing at a certain spot. Then I took the fast idle cam thing on the TB and loosened that so it wasnt touching the cam ting or whatever. Then I drove that top TB screw all the way out and still absolutly nothing. Nothing works. I then adjusted the TPS with two lights until one was on and one was off. Obviously didnt work because I tried it in every position. I know its not the TB misadjustment because it idled lower before.
If anyone knows of another adjustment that I dont know about please tell me. I only know of three. TPS , IDLE CAM AND TOP SCREW. thnx alot.

Ohhh the cams. lol. ok sorry I do have some of those. Reground? Does this require taking the TB off? and do you have pics or can you go into detail onto what your talking about? Mabey I can figure it out if I look at it.

its just the TPS or mabey crazy vacume leaks. My problem goes beyond that because the idle bounces when the TPS is set correctly but no matter what the idle is still to high
ANYONE?? thnx
ANYONE?? thnx

can you adjust it with the bac?? it's not preferable but it will work also you can use the variable resistor. i have this problem too it will idle at 750 but it feels like *** so i have it set to 950-1000 much better responce that way. also, why are you pulling the idle set screw out if you want to get the idle down?? unless you ment you screwed it out to see if it would do anything.

I have no screw on the bac! Its on the TB and the side of the TB and the TPS. It wont go down... Remember I have ported manifolds and pineapple sleeves. After that the idle went up and wouldnt come down.

VON quick check would be your afm i know if its plugged in it works right no.... You need to take off the plug cover and wire by wire force it into the afm i dont mean take the wires out i mean plug it in and then get a small screw driver and push the spades into the afm plug this was my problem last week ROYJAMES and myself spent about an hour trying to diagnose the problem and found it was that now it holds an idle with the best

I think its a big vacuum leak, myself. But, recently there was a fellow whose bac was stuck wide open, or close to it. Take the plug off the bac and see if the idle drops.
That or the timing is way toooo far advanced.

Wow how did you know I had a plug on my BAC hailers?
And what are the effects of not having one connected? thnx. That and mabey an intake leak but the engine is really quiet and gives no signs but I will look with some carb and get back to ya. thnx
