Problem was there before I changed clutches. I thought the clutch went out hence why I replaced it. One of the transmissions is caked in clutch dust from the time before and when I pulled it there was no spots showing any interference as the buildup was the same as before it was put in.

it may be the flywheel is damaged from the nut coming loose and is no longer self centering itself after having been run for a while like that.

it is also possible the incorrect flywheel was installed, i doubt a factory nut would come loose so it is likely someone has been in there before. the flywheel will have a stamp on it for the series.

N318 = series 4 turbo
N327 = series 4 non turbo
N370 = series 5 turbo
N350 = series 5 non turbo

may be worth trying to see it by pulling the starter and using a mirror and light.

the improper flywheel will cause a vibration, the noise i am hearing may just be the whole car vibrating and causing the chatter sound. an improperly balanced rotating assembly will generally have 2-3 harmonic vibrations sequences before it hits redline. did the car always do this or did it just creep up after a while? history of the car is helpful in this case.

I don't want you to think that I do not appreciate the help you are trying to give. I will feel inside the bellhousing tonight after work and see if I can feel any metal flakes that would affirm your thoughts on the problem...

I can tell it's a factory one however it was switched from auto to manual by the previous owner and I think that they just did not torque the nut down properly leading to the nut backing off the eshaft over time. However I do think it is a balancing issue as that is the only thing I have not tried to fix and until my other car is able to be driven safely again I will have to drive the rx7 even if it means ruining the bearings from all the vibration...

Vibration wasn't there for the majority of the time that i owned the car before the clutch was changed except for the last 5 miles where I had to drive it home in 2nd due to it not wanting to disengage. During that time it was rattling and vibrating a lot.

The bearing problem in the current transmission was and that's why I swapped transmissions previously but when I thought the clutch went and it sat for a year before I could replace it I thought that the transmission got messed up from the nut backing off the eshaft and so I swapped the transmission back hence why you can here the bearings.
