Car is very close to firing, but won't quite start

Within the last month I purchased a running '87 base with an engine that had a blown coolant seal. I also have a friend who just had an extra engine ported for his '86 sport and is beginning to install his new engine so I bought his old stock port engine. Now that I have the engine installed, I am having a lot of trouble getting it to start. The engine cranks great and sounds like it is on the verge of starting but will only rarely completely fire. The engine was flooding very easily and after going through the unflooding procedure, the engine would continue to occassionally completely fire. I then removed the upper intake manifolds and replaced the fuel injectors with a different set of injectors and did some hardcore grounding. The engine fired up almost first try and after warming up, I took it for a drive. After I got back, I decided to swap on my new suspension set up and after I found that three of my four lug studs on my driver's front hub here f'ed up, the car sat for a few days as I had new studs pressed in. Once I got the car back on the ground, I went back to starting the car, to which I continued fighting with getting the car to start. The car sounds like it is so clost to firing that I actually let off the key too early a few times because I actually believed it had started. Once I finally got it started, the car ran on only one rotor for several minutes. Once both rotors began running and the car warmed up, I took the car for a drive. It ran decent considering that the engine had not yet been tuned properly until it returned to running on one rotor. I then pulled over and the car lost its idle and shut off, and would then not start again. Luckily, a few friends showed up and the car started instantly with the smallest push start.
The engine's compression is good because it was tested when it sat in my friend's car. The engine has new plugs and just last night I swapped in the computer and both coils out of the Sport the engine came from. After the computer swap the car started right up, but it will not start anymore. I have no idea why this thing refuses to fire consistantly. It actually runs decent once it is running, but I am having a hell of a time getting it to start. I would imagine the starting problem may be related to why it only likes to run on one rotor once started and I do not know if the easy flooding problem is related also as the car floods after about two attempts to start while giving the car a little gas. Seeing as I put a once running engine into a car that had the ability to start its old engine, I figured the engine would fire right up, but obviously something is wrong. Any help is appreciated and as this has been a long post, I hope my story is not hard to follow. Thank you so much guys.

wow. that was a lot to take in. Ive got.. nothing. but heres a free up anyways...

youre sure the injectors are alrgiht now? I mean theres really only 3 things to check. fuel compresion spark. you sound like youve got the latter two, so your either getting too much or not enough gas

That's actually what I was thinking too, but I am about 85% sure the injectors are OK. Hopefully someone else has an idea, and when I get a chance, I'll tear those injectors out of there again. Thanks.

So today I started it up first try and it ran on only one rotor. I did the ATF trick to get both rotors going, and the car soon returned to running on a single rotor. WTF?
