car turns off while driving....

many instances today when i was driving, the car would just die, all my idiot lights would come on and i have to turn it back on. well just now, my car turned off completely and i cant start it anymore. is my alternator bad? i have a 88 TII

if while you are driving and all the idiot lights come on, then you have an alternator problem.
It can also be a BAC problem.
