car troubles.
i have a 1986 mada rx7 non turbo. i baught it for a bit of a project and the guy said it only needs a fuel pump. i baught one and i put it in. it works. i realized there was a crack in the coper return line to the fuel tank on the top of the fuel pump cover. i fixed that. the engine is now getting fuel. the damn car still will not start. its turning over fine and i'm boosting it off a nother car because my battery is dead. i was told this should still start. all the electrical still works ie: lights, wipers, air and heat. i took the plugs out and there a bit wet so i dryed them off and put tehm back in. the car still just turned over and would not fire.
any ideas on what to try next?
heres the car http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2503854

Remove the EGI fuse from the engine compartment fuse box. Pull the spark plugs and crank the car for 5-10 secs. Dry the plugs if they are wet. If the center insulators on the plugs are black, replace the plugs. Squirt a bit of oil into each housing. Just a bit. Reinstall plugs and EGI fuse and try starting the car. Keep your foot off the accelerator pedal.
If this doesn't do the trick, you will need to troubleshoot to determine what is lacking--i.e., fuel, spark, etc.
EDIT: Oh, and check the engine compression. Very low or no compression=no start.

Please read the FAQ for FC sticky thread before posting. Many of the commonly asked questions (such as not starting) are covered there. The FAQ for FC sticky thread (again- found at the top of the 2nd gen RX-7 Technical section) should always be your first read.
In addition your bumps have been deleted. Bumps, Helps, anyones, etc that raise the thread back up are forbidden here in the 2nd gen technical section and are considered rude anywhere when bumped in less than 24-48 hours.
Please also use a real title for the thread, that describes the actual problem. weak *** titles, such as "Help" "car Troubles" "umm" and the like will not get you any responses.
And stop starting new threads on the same problem. Last count, you had 4 different threads all on this same subject and car. Are you mental or just think that you should start a new thread each day???
And finally, if the plugs are wet, the engine is flooded. If the battery is low or weak or the incorrect size, it will never ever start a flooded car.
