When your car shuts off, what does it sound like? Does it cut clean like you turned your engine off with the key, or does it fight and try to keep running but go flat anyway?

the same thing happened to mine when my TID (intake) was disconnected from my turbo. you should double check for really big vaccum leaks

put a test light on the coil power wire and see if you loose ignition befor the car dies. you can also use a timing light.

no leaks between TB and AFM? mine did that when I disconnected the hose from the BACV to the Intake...I assume because it let too much unregulated air into the TB.

Sounds to me like a vac leak

check all the lines, i remember my intercooler was not clamped tightly and it LOOKS like it was holding well, but in fact created a large vac leak....

any other thing i can think of is MAF not plugged in, but then if u said u checked that, i would look into big vac leaks, TDI, MAF, Turbo outlet, IC, IC->TB joint, the hole of the Air bypass valve, BAC....

those places...
