car starts but wont stay running

so heres what it does,
we spray some starting fluid into the innercooler, conect the hose's back together and try starting the engine with my foot on the gas floored. it starts and will run till the starting fluid burns up. if i try to start with my foot just on the clutch it does nothing but spins and floods out. i know it sparks cause it starts up and runs. its as if it no longer gets fuel after initial start up has taken place, ive been doing alot of researching on fuel pump relays, and on this problem i am having and all threads i have found end up dying out with no answers. i have found that fuel relays seem to be a big reason behind the death of many an rx7. can any one tell me how to test a fuel pump relay. ive seen where others talk about testing it but when i did a search on testin fuel pump relay it only had i think 4 threads anmd they wernt much help. all i know is its on the left shock tower and you jumper a wire but it dont know from what to what. thanks guys

Hey mate,
Have you also checked your EGI fuse? You won't be getting any fuel if that's shot. Also jumper the fuel pump check valve see if you have a dead fuel pump. FSM would be the best place to check out how to check fuel pump relays. If it helps, here's the page.

Apologies if it comes out tiny - I'll reupload it somewhere else if it does

Is your fuel pump working?

Are you getting sufficient fuel pressure?

QFT

Also a intake leak will cause the same problem too.

Well ya if you have a really bad vac leak, Make sure you have hose clamps on all the hoses around the afm.
