car shakes really bad!!! help!!

I RECENTLE replace my water pump on my car, but to get it pff i have to rake off the main pulley (eccentric shaft pulley) and i did not mark enything i did not know that i would mess with the timming by just pulling it off, or did i?

i eliminatet the air pump so its not there no more.
and also the a/c belt it gone (just the belt).

when i turned it on it it stayed running but the hole engine and car was shaking real
bad!

is it because i eliminated the air pump? or because i pulled of the main pulley?
please some one help!
i aredy researched help!

When you pulled the front pulley off, did you remove it by taking it's four small bolt off? Or did you pull the large 19mm bolt out of the eccentric shaft to remove the pulley? If the 19mm bolt, you might have disturbed the torrington bearings and they all fell down and now everything is jammed up big time inside the front of the engine.

IF you removed the four small bolts, then the pulley only goes on one way because of the staggered bolt pattern so that shouldn't have made anything go bad. And you didn't say a thing about messing with the cas/timing so that can't be the problem even if you put the pulley back on 90* out.

I'm saying if you removed the four small bolts and then somehow put the pulley back on 90* out, that by itself won't effect anything like timing, UNTIL you use a timing light on it and turn the cas to try to match the timing marks.

So? Which was it? The four small bolts or the 19mm bolt? If 19mm bolt, go to mazdatrix.com and look at their FAQ that deals with the removal of the eccentric shaft bolt. http://www.mazdatrix.com/faq/pulley.htm

Oh ****!! You will probally have to pull the front cover to recover said bearings. Hailers or someone else will have to ellaborate as i have never done this,

is the car S4 or S5?cause S4's have spacers/washers between the front cover and water pump housing.depending on the series of motors you either have to check to see and take it out or put them in.

when you remove the big 19mm bolt in the front pulley, you should have had a friend there so they could press the clutch in and hold it there while you removed the front pulley and then just leave the clutch pressed in until you put the main pulley back on using the 19mm bolt. the reason why you do this is because there are bearings that the main shaft ride on and the shaft has sprung force applied to it to keep it on the bearingsand the shaft will fall off the bearings if no force is applied thru the clutch to keep it on the bearings.

correct airpump has nothing to do with the shaking.byt removing it, it wont open up your 5th and 6th ports. i really dont know about engine shaking crazy if the bearing drops but than again ive never had one drop on me. but i do know the end result is bad although it doesnt take much to fix and it can all be done with engine in car

You probably knocked off or remove the vacuum hose to the pressue sensor while you were there.

I'm just wondering If you had a hard time putting the Pulley back on?..If the Bolts Lined up OK?,Or if the bolts seemed like they were just Not "right"..if the Answer is #2 then your Pulley may not be on Right, and that would make it Off balance.Maybe..That is My thinking, the pulley is Out of Whack and causing a Vibration ,because it is throwing the engine Off balance..another Thought is you have a bad Motor Mount...now Question: did you Take the Plug wires off for any Reason?..did you Disconnect any Electricals?..(so many things that you have to Rule out since Nobody was actually there..Except you!)..

+1 one on what he said above but if you took the main pulley off completly then that alone is one of your problems

I'm interested as well in the whole bearing problem. Is it the cause of the shaking? My car shakes as well so I would like to know if my rebuilder messed up.

Also, the underdrive pulley, the actually outer pulle, only fits on 1 way and 1 way only? I've been hearing from a couple rotary heads in my area that it fits 2 ways, 0* and 180*. Is this wrong?

If the vacuum line came off of the pressure sensor, wouldn't the engine not be able to hold idle? Because after reading a whole bunch of 'help me...' threads, it seems that a vacuum leak would allow the engine to start, but not to stay running. Or am I wrong? I need to know if I am.

That's what I thought. I think your timing is just off. Double check if the pulley is on correctly, because if it isn't on right then the timing will be completely off.

And for the vacuum line for the pressure sensor, I think you can connect it to any extra vacuum nipple on the intake manifold or just follow the diagram shown in the FSM.

if you took off the front cover that would have set off your timing and you'd have to retime it. unless you were really gentle with the front cover while installing and removing.but very unlikely
