Car running rich

OKay I have a 1987 rx7 with a s4 turbo motor...emissions equipment was removed and there is no cat. I understand that it's going to smell more blah blah but it runs extremely rich...still seems to drive nice but I'm wondering where there may be a problem. I pulled out my plugs and they are white on the tips..what does this exactly mean on a rotary plug? Also do these cars respond well to manual boost controllers? I had quickly set one up but can only get a 1-2 psi difference when I adjust it and I know it's hooked up right.

P.S. Has anyone also had any experience with water meyth injection..would like to know the outcome. Thanks for any help.

A faulty O2s will cause it to run rich. Although stock engines tend to run on the rich side anyways.

White tips on plugs usually mean a lean condition.

I know that's what partially confuses me, if my car is running rich why are my plugs white?

What indications do you have that the car is running rich?

I would assume by his original post, he is determining that from smelling his exhaust.

Fact is though, no cats = gassy exhaust smell. Especially, it will be even more so due to the rotary engines combustion chamber. Long elongated chambers tend to cause some slight amount of fuel to be unburned, more so than a piston.

If you want to go cheap, get a narrow band, that will at least tell you if you are running near stoic levels.
