car misfires dies now wont start
My car is an 86 base with an 87 engine just installed. I think i have an injector problem as ive heard but i need to know any other ideas. I drove my car for a mile after i got everything hooked back up but it was misfiring so much that i had to go full throttle for it to go and it did redline and all that but i got to 4th gear and it cut off. Everything was still on but the rpms died. I tried to push start my car all the way to 50mph but it didnt work i could hear the engine but it just didnt want to go. So I know my ignition is working spark is there there is a strong fuel smell but it seems that when i step on the gas that its not responding. I de-flooded it taking out the spark plugs and etc. and it still didnt do anything even when i push started it this time. What is wrong please help -Gabe

Misfire
This may sound too simple, but have you checked to make absolutely certain that your plug wires are correctly connected?
Having one pair (leading for instance) hooked up right and the other backwards will do exactly what you are experiencing.
I am speaking from my own experience. I hooked the trailing plug wires up backwards on the rebuild I did back in the spring. The engine started fine and idled good, but acted like it was blowing up at anything over idle.
You may want to check your timing as well. It is easy to be off a tad and it will cause it to run like crap as well.
I am not saying this is for certain your problem, but it is very easy to check. On each coil/ignitor, there is a dot on the front spark plug connector.
