Car labors to start in cold
Car labors to start in cold
My car is working hard to start now that the weather has dropped. As soon as I saw a negative temperature, my car cranks like the battery is almost dead. However, after a few cranks it speeds up, speeds up and fires. If the car runs for a while (30 minutes to an hour)... it will be good to start nicely for about 2 hours.
This morning, it was -7c and it barely started. Half a crank every second and a half... scared me, so I boosted it :o
I don't plan on winter-driving it, but this is ridiculous. I shouldn't have to plug my car in in -5c temperatures, should I? Come to think of it, does this thing even have a block heater? I don't think I've seen a cord to plug it in... will have to inspect.
