Car keeps dieing
Car keeps dieing
I went yesterday and had the alternator, starter and battery tested, which all turned out fine
this all started a couple of days ago, and just gotten worse
the car can be push started fine, i had a new starter laying aorun doff another one of my cars, as well as an alternator
i put the starter on yesterday and it started up fine, charged the battery and it worked fine
its was to where it would sit for over an hour and it would die, i mean i was able to drive it thruout the day and start it up fine
now its to where it wont start when i turn the car off
the battery terminals are fine, pretty much brand new
i just got this car back around december and its ran perfectly, the guy who had it before me moved the battery to the stoage bin
im going to replace the wire going to the starter tomorrow when its not raining,
any other ideas of what it could be?
ive even unhooked the stereo and anything i thought might be draining it, im lost on this ..any ideas that could help me track this down?

Try this:
@ night open and shut your door, look @ the ignition light and see if it goes out after 10 seconds for so. Driver's side door handle trips the light which sometimes gets sticky = battery drainage...

be a little more specific about "dying", is the battery going dead? is everything working but the engine won't turn over? is the engine turning over? a battery dying after 1 hour is very uncommon, even if you had a pretty bad draw, but if you're sure the battery is good, and it's going dead in an hour, then a parasitic draw test is the first thing i'd do.
same thing happened to me a while ago, ended up being that the wires to the battery had corroded at the terminals. Simply dunk the terminals in wd40 and a wire brush and scraped away. Haven't had the problem since.
the radio and lights will work it just wont start up, like it doesnt have enough juice to start, it willturn over but draws out farther and farther as it goes until it just shuts down
