when i dont jump it,it cranks but it starts to turn over slower and slower until it just clicks.sometimes it just clicks at first then it turns over.and when the key is just on the meter reads about 10 then when i turn the key it starts to drop to 8 and then 0.

Key to ON and just 10 vdc might be a bad battery that will eventually take out the alternator.

Then again, it could just be a case of corroded battery terminals. I'd take the battery out of the car your jumpering with and put it in the RX and give it a go to prove the battery is good/bad. Then again, look at the corroded battery terminals.

Turning the key to ON should show a good 12vdc and if a meter was used it'd really be 12.5 vdc or so. Turning to START should make the voltage drop down to ??? 8-9 vdc while cranking the starter over. Normal. Dropping to zero to me means bad/corroded battery cables or bad battery.

A slow turning starter with good battery and good battery terminals and good wiring on the starter, means to me a sad starter with bad starter brushes or worse. Starter brushes cost about thirty bucks. Starters run in the one hundred to one hundred fifty range........I think. Replacing starter brushes takes a little talent.

I say crummy battery.

if after you turn the car off, then try to turn it back on;

1st (key in acc. position) you have full power (i.e. radio, etc.)
2nd (trying to start) all you hear is clicking, its you starter solenoid.
