It's small a shock absorber just before the idle stop.

Could it be the dashpot. I read this in a japanese rx7 page and the symptom sounds like what the guy was describing in the following link.

fc3s info

To adjust, the guy says to loosen the nut at the bottom and turn the dashpot clockwise a bit and then retighten. I'm not too familiar with the dashpot because I have a first gen but I've driven fc's and know what everyone is talking about . I thought thats just the way they ride since every single one that I've driven did the same thing.

Hope it helps

Junia... Those are great pics on that fcs info you posted. However, the labels on the pics are in Japenese. Do you have a link to the site in English?

Well, Mazda has my car right now fixing the seat belts... FOR FREE. But, anyway, when I get it back tomorrow I'm tearing into the TPS. Elf King replied earlier in this post with instructions for adjusting the TPS. Check that out. Good Stuff.

By the way, Elf King, or anyone else who might know, what is the benefit of testing the TPS by analyzing Resistance? Why not analyze Voltage? Read about that debate somewhere on a thread - just wondering if anyone knows anything about that.

Hope that helps, Molotovman...

PS - Test drove an 8 today at my local Mazda Dealership when they were taking my car to fix the seatbelts... Pretty tempting. That is an A#1 nice automobile - I must say.

Wow, back from the dead. lol

TPS = throttle position sensor.

Check your FSM to see where it is, and then the FAQ here on how to check and adjust it.
