Car dies randomly at idle.

I did have this posted in the haltech section, but it really isn't a haltech issue...

I have an electrical issue with the alternator I know of. When I start my car I have to rev over 2500 rpms to actually 'activate' the alternator and I'll start making 14v.

I had the problem that when I would turn the headlights on and put a draw on the power my afrs would go super lean and the car would die. So I went into the fuel battery correction map and added alot of fuel and it ran great. It will idle rock solid at 1k rpms at 14v in the haltech info page at low 12's afr. This is with the headlights on, power the laptop through an inverter and with my subwoofer going and foot on brake.

Then randomly it will run lean then die. I'll watch the voltage meter and it does drop maybe to 13v but the afr goes from 12's up to 16's and then its dead. Also it only does this when I have the headlights on, so I'm wondering if the voltage is dropping too much to the fuel pump and making the car run lean.

I'm using a FD alternator which I've already replaced because of bad diodes and this 2nd alternator is having the exact same issue. Also this battery is brand new! I'm going to rewire the 12v constant to the alternator to see if that might be the issue. Does anyone else have any suggestions? Is there anything else that would be causing my electrical issues?

I just went out and messed with it a bit more. I got it where it would idle at 1000 rpms with a 12.5 afr with the headlights on and the laptop running. When I hit the brakes the afr just goes to 13 then 14 then 15 then the car dies. It has to be the voltage just dropping and the fuel pump is unable to continue to keep pressure on the fuel system.
