Car died randomly and won't idle

Ok, coming home today, coming to a stop to turn into my driveway, I downshift into 3rd at about 40 mph...continue slowing...shift to neutral and the car dies...I roll into my driveway and park it (it was starting to rain just as I pulled in). Anyway, went out to the car a couple hours later in between showers, turn the key, it fires right up and seems to rev up fine, but as soon as the throttle is released the rpm's immediately drop to zero and the car dies. So, give me some ideas on what to check when the rain stops again.

Check for loose vacuum hoses and intake lines.

I checked all the major ones I could see, in a quick glace, because it started raining again. I guess I should also say all the emissions have been removed.

might as well anyways, and i mean gaskets on the blocked off emissions, they seem very prone to leaking
