car back fires

i got a 87 TII with turbo back exhaust and fcd. car has 82xxx and is stock besides those mods.
i did a tune up on it a couple days ago. plugs, wires fuel filter. i've been driving around is it ran great.
i went to start it up and it started up and then started to back fire and ****. i get on the highway to go to work and it backfires and won't go past 4k.
so i get home and adjust the tps to spec and it does better but still back fires and runs real rich. so i'm thinking leaky injector or mabe a ground issue.

Are those the only mods you have? From my understanding you could have boost creep!. I mean that may not be the problem you have now but you should definetly look into porting the wastegate Try checking the compression on the rear rotor.

+1 on the compression check. That's what mine did when I popped my engine. I had 25 PSI consistent on the front rotor and 0 PSI on the rear.

those are the only mods. i didn't have boost creep unless my engine was cold and i wouldn't run it hard. i was going to port the WG next week. i was hoping it could wait til then.
it will start up and idle pretty good then when i give it gas and let off it backfires. when its warming up at idle it will backfire. i haven't had a chance to get a compression tester yet but i hope to get it this w/e. i hope it isn't blown but if it is o well its a rotary. i guess.
