if u want a kickin sound system kicker makes the solobarics.....the 8" is actuall 10" if u made it round...it doesnt need a lot of room to beat at all...they would be great for the bin install too. IF u got one solobaric 10" and had no reason for use of the, hten buy one and make a huge *** ported box...they like 1.5 cu/ft but they like a lot of room which would be 6.0 which is the max...just make it somewhere in between....they beat hard!

Here is a solobaric L7.

I can attest to the sound quality of these. I have one 10" L7 just like the above (in a ported box) for my RX7. My brother introduced me to them after he had eight 10" L7s in his '94 sunbird. Just one is good enough for me.

Just do what i want to do. 1 JL Audio 12 W6 with the 500/1 Amp...no need for more bass because it would be way to loud.

thanks iv hit 138Db with a conservative gain setting.

and as for sounding bad??? wtf I'm not at -6db till 41hz and for a sub with tendencies for a strong ported box this is good.
I'm going to make a new box when i get my titanium sub so that I take advantage of what the sub has to offer and it will be in the same place.

the only reason that rear facing sub's sound better it that it dissipates the sound of paper and/or composite cones warping. but with a 1/8" thick alum. cone i don't think i need to be afraid of that. also pointing your sub to the back of the car can make it quieter due to wave cancelation.
its all about the sub and box.

and for the solobaric they are not a bad sub BUT they are made more for SPL than SQ if you want it to sound the best get an eclipse or Infinity Kappa Perfect.

Not that it's that noticeable with the grill anyways, from up top it looks like part of the car, aside from the carpet colour
nice! that is exactly what i was thinking!

Found some old pics that should give you an idea of the size box you can fit in the trunk.. this was the box I had in the Rex a while back. I made a sealed 3/4" thick MDF with 1.5" thick front. The new box sounds so much better.. not sure if it fits in the FC though. The box in the pictures is a ported box, originally made for kicker subs but I replaced them with 11" Focal subs. It's prently of bass.
