Ok, I misread that. I thought he meant it would screw up if you used a higher voltage capacitor (50v instead of 25v).

How can I tell which way to hook it up?

When putting it back in, look at the picture posted in your first post, and install with the striped side in the same spot (on the same side) as it was originally.

White stripe, gotcha. I was thinking it was that but wasn't sure.

Oh, and if it's worth anything, the striped side is the negative lead. They usually have markings right on them anyway.
